Choosing a degree means committing three years and thousands of pounds to a course most students have only read about. Students with family or friends at university can ask what it’s really like. Many can’t. Schools want to close that gap, and employers can help them do it.

Early careers and your sector
Programmes can focus on a field such as engineering, law or business. Mentors stay independent, so students get an honest view, not a sales pitch.
Already Doing It Ltd is a company, not a registered charity. If your funding can only go to charities, tell us early and we’ll be straight about whether we can help.
One programme, several schools, no admin for you
Agree
We agree your area, the schools, any subject focus and the success measures you need to report.
Launch
We run two live online workshops for the participating schools, each with two or three near-peer mentors and followed by a teacher-led booking slot.
Book
Pupils book funded 30-minute 1:1 conversations from a shared pool, choosing the course and university they’re considering.
Report
You receive a progress update at week six and a final impact report after 12 weeks.
Why a shared pool
Every school starts with its own allocation. We monitor bookings weekly. At week three, any school with low uptake gets extra booking support. From week five, unused places move to the schools where pupils are booking. Your funding follows demand instead of sitting unused.

Workshops
Live, interactive sessions where current students talk honestly about choosing a course, what studying it is actually like, and the questions pupils should be asking. Reaches whole groups at once.
1:1 conversations
Thirty minutes with someone studying the course or subject a pupil is considering, wherever our network covers it. Pupils ask what they’d never ask in an assembly.
We report workshop attendances and 1:1 conversations separately, so nothing is counted twice.
What your organisation gets
- A complete programme: schools recruited, sessions scheduled, mentors matched, bookings managed.
- Recognition as funder: named in school and parent materials, at each workshop and in the reports.
- A week-six progress update, including a recovery plan if uptake is behind.
- A final impact report: schools, workshop attendances, completed conversations, pool use, before-and-after confidence and pupil feedback, in aggregate.

Independent, safeguarded and private by design
Independent
You fund the programme. You don’t shape the conversation. Mentors share their honest experience and pupils choose who to speak to.
Safeguarded
Every mentor is identity verified with a mandatory safeguarding assessment and trained before going live. Pupils must be 16 or over. Sessions are booked and managed through ADI’s platform, and concerns follow our published safeguarding policy.
Private
You receive aggregate results only. No pupil names, contact details or individual data, and no figure based on fewer than six pupils.
A live platform, not a plan
Already Doing It is already running. Schools book, pupils choose their mentor, conversations happen and outcomes are measured on one platform. Our Uni Insider opportunity has been approved by 37 UK university careers services, and nearly 400 trained near-peer mentors are live now.
Schools and colleges in our pilot included George Salter Academy, Bilton School, Gosford Hill School and Coppice School.
