Don't guess your future.
Talk to someone already living it.
52% of graduates regret their degree choice. Not because they were not smart enough, but because no one gave them an honest conversation before they committed. We exist to change that, one honest conversation at a time.
The conversation no one was giving sixth formers
University open days are curated. Brochures are promotional. League tables tell you nothing about whether you will actually enjoy three years studying something. And teachers, however brilliant, can only tell you so much.
Already Doing It exists to fill that gap.
We give every sixth former the older sibling they wish they had: someone already doing what they are considering, who will tell them the truth. No scripts. No sales pitch. Just honest insight from someone already living the experience they are weighing up.
A degree costs around £60,000 and three years of your life. It is the biggest decision most sixth formers have made, and most make it on the least honest information they will ever be given.
We did not invent this problem. We lived it.
When we asked our own Uni Insiders about their own journey to university, the gap was impossible to ignore. The people now giving honest advice are the ones who needed it most.
The convictions behind every conversation
Honest beats polished.
We would rather a student hear that a course is hard work than sit through a perfect pitch. The truth is the only thing they can actually act on.
A good decision is the win, not a booking.
If an honest conversation leaves someone less sure about a course, it did its job. We are not here to sell universities. We are here to help people choose well.
Preparation should match the stakes.
Three years and a major financial commitment should never come down to a prospectus and a hunch. The decision is too big for guesswork.
The honest conversation shouldn't be a privilege.
Some students have a sibling or family friend who has already been there. Most do not. We exist so that every sixth former does.
Two experiences. One clear conclusion.
I am Dan, founder of Already Doing It and a practising optometrist in Warwickshire. I knew what I was getting into when I chose my career, because my sister was already studying optometry. I could ask her the real questions. What is the workload actually like? Would she choose it again? What do you wish you had known before starting?
Looking back, I was lucky. Most students do not have that.
My wife experienced the same thing from a different angle. Having moved from Canada and needing to restart her studies, she chose her course on the honest advice of a friend who had recently studied it. That insider reality made all the difference.
Two personal experiences, one clear conclusion: the most valuable thing a prospective student can have is an honest conversation with someone already living the experience they are considering. So I built it.
An honest conversation, built for the questions that matter
Real Connection
Sessions happen by 1:1 video call from the comfort of your own home. No scripts, no sales pitches, just an honest conversation with someone who has chosen the path you are considering and is willing to tell you the truth about it.
Unfiltered Insight
Our Uni Insiders are trained to share the reality of their course, not just the highlights. What surprised them, what is harder than expected, what they would do differently. The questions open days will not answer are exactly the ones we are built for.
Confident Choices
When you have spoken to someone already living your potential future, the uncertainty lifts. 100% of students in our initial trial reported feeling more confident in their university choice after just one session.
One honest conversation changes how it feels
Safeguarding comes first. Every Uni Insider is identity verified and completes a mandatory safeguarding assessment before taking any bookings. Sessions are structured, time-limited and held through a managed platform, and for students aged 16 to 17 a parent or guardian is present at the start of each session.
